Product Care Manual

We at Silk and Sins create each piece with utmost love and patience. We truly hope they become part of your most valuable memories. Therefore, we highly recommend learning how to lovingly take care of SnS products.

Ultimate Guide to Leather Care

We use full grain leather to make our products. This is the most traditional, desired, and expensive of all leathers.

Features of Full-Grain Leather

  • Each piece has natural scratches and grains that make this leather unique and valuable.
  • It develops a rich patina over time and is ideal for rugged leather goods.

Daily Care for Leather Products

  • Clean leather products with a soft cotton cloth and wax to prevent damage to the surface. Avoid any contact with water.
  • Keep leather products away from direct sunlight and water.
  • Protect leather products from contact with sharp or rigid objects.
  • If leather products become damp or wet, air-dry or blow-dry them.
  • For leather products that are stored permanently, apply anti-blushing agents and seal them in a plastic bag in a cool, dry place.

Storage and Care

  • Do not expose leather products to water, moisture, sunlight, high temperatures, coarse objects, acids, alkalis, or shoe polishers.
  • If leather products become damp or soaked: Air-dry them in a shady, ventilated place before waxing.
  • To treat scratches on leather products: Apply leather care products and let them air-dry. Then, heat the surface with a blow dryer for 30-40 seconds and wipe it repeatedly with a dry cloth.
  • To treat minor cracks on leather products: Use egg-white for adhesion.
  • To clean mildew from leather products: Wipe the affected areas with a soft, dry cloth and apply leather care products. Avoid using water or gasoline.
  • Leather products manufactured from full-grain leather need to be stored in dark places.
  • Do not store in tight spaces to avoid deformational damage.

Guide to Metal Hardware

  • To maintain the gloss and prevent discoloration or oxidation of metal parts, clean them regularly.
  • Golden and bronze products may naturally discolor over time, which is not a quality issue.
  • Avoid exposing metal parts to rain, squeezing, scratching, oil contamination, or chemical corrosion.
  • Prevent metal parts from coming into contact with mildew or corrosive substances or liquids.
  • If rust appears on metal parts, wipe it away with a soft, dry cloth and polishing powder.
